Obama Cartoons

follow me on TwitterWhen Bush left the Oval Office, people from not only the United States, but from around the world began to notice a slight glimmer of HOPE. President Barack Obama quickly became a legend. While there are many Obama cartoons that are critical, thus far, early in his tenure, he has continued to pull through time and again for the American people and the nations of the world. Many Obama cartoons have depicted a “unifier” that is contrary to his predecessor the country boy claiming to be from Texas.

President Obama just had Peta actually tell him he should be more humane to flys for killing a house fly on national tv. So here's a parody of Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior Rematch Obama vs. The Fly by Pat O'Kelley

From day one some say he has been a beacon of change. Being the first African-American president has come with not only the duties of the country, but with those of making sure through cartoon he stays the great man he was before he came into such an immense position. He grew up with very little and was very lucky toget a good educationand have such a caring family. While some cartoonists like to focus upon his upbringing (his muslim heritage of his father, his inner city church pastor, his own Christian faith, and even if his US birth certificate is legitimate), but it is what he is doing now that matters. He has recently signed the stimulus bill, furthering success in our economy and he has beaten McCain for presidency, which is no easy feat for a man of his background. One favorite Obama cartoon was a depiction of a Knighted Obama atop of a bloody slain McCain Dragon.

All around, the world has been happy with the election, and even some Obama cartoons are beginning to show it as well. One cartoon of Obama shows him as the shining sun slowly but surely ridding the nation of Bush’s dark cloud of mistakes and misjudgments. The outcries of joy can be heard from everywhere for Obama. While most political cartoons are being made in mockery of him, Obama has been seen some that are letting the opinions and feeling of the world show. Notice how there are more good Obama cartoon depictions of our president from the rest of the world then from the U.S; it shows that we are being recognized as a rising nation again and not one wallowing in turmoil from our previous leader. May we be in debt to Obama if he does lead us from this recession into a possibility brighter day? Much of the world sees Obama as leading us with HOPE of a day where we might prosper instead of live in fear of failing business, unemployment, unaffordable health care, energy crisis, and terrorism.

But not everyone agrees. Many Obama cartoons are racy at best, racist at worst. The cartoonist goal is to evoke emotion and prove a point. Some people do not like a democrat, left to center President in office and many cartoons have shown that sentiment as well. Early 2009 many people claim The New York Post depicted Obama as an ape or monkey being gunned down by police. He has also been drawn as Curious George.

Obama has provided plenty of material for the political cartoonist to keep him or her busy thus far into his presidency. Many cartoonists have shown concern through ink and bubble text balloons by drawing Obama cartoons criticizing his handling of: the national banks, the car industry, taxes, inflation, unemployment, foreign policy, wall street cheaters and crooks, Mexico borders and their drug and gun issues, North Korea, Gitmo, Health Insurance, Iraq Troop Decrease and the Middle East Policy, Afghanistan Troop increase, energy crisis, and yes even the family choice of Whitehouse dog. So even though many people around the world see Obama as a symbol of HOPE, the U.S. still has close to half our country with questions for President Obama and how he intends on resolving these very complex issues.

Good or bad Obama cartoons are here for at least 4 more years. Keep them coming. Cartoons can often express more than words can through strokes and scribbles. President Barack Obama sense of humor, intelligence, and constant speeches should give the cartoonists across the world plenty of topics to cartoon about for years to come.
